ONE OWNER for 46 years. Beautifully presented 1976 TD Cortina XL in original Ford colour Deep Aqua with factory Saddle Brown trim. Stock as a rock factory 4 speed manual and running the matching numbers 4.1 Litre 250 6 Cylinder matching numbers engine. For sale from our Sydney Showroom.

A rare find these days. A totally unmolested survivor Cortina XL running the original 250ci engine and 4 speed manual gearbox. An original country car sold through Rural Motors, Orange, NSW. Presented in original maintained condition with mostly original factory paint with some touch ups around the car.

The current owner purchased the car from the original family who held the car from 1976 until 2022. Having been last registered in 2002, the car needed to be recommissioned. Mechanically, the original engine was rebuilt by Sydney based Rallis Race Engines with receipts. The 250 rebuild included a full strip down of the engine and a hot tank of all parts. The block was bored and honed to 030 over, the block decked and the crankshaft linished. New mains, rods, cam bearings, a stage one camshaft, new lifters, timing set and water pump were fitted. Rebuilt for unleaded fuels, the engine is fitted with new guides, valves, springs and seals. A new clutch was fitted and flywheel machined and the engine has been dyno tuned.

Cosmetically the current owner detailed the car which is in exceptional original condition throughout. Chrome and brightwork are in excellent condition. The interior is superb with excellent original dash, console, hood lining, carpets, belts, door cards & window rubbers. Only the two front seats have been retrimmed. The car also comes with the original owners log books and is showing a genuine 251,708 Klms driven from new.

During the recommissioning, the current owner also overhauled the suspension and brakes. Riding on white wall tyres with good original Cortina hubcaps.
