What would it be like to squeeze a W427 LS7 engine into a SSV Ute you ask? The answer is plain and simply - RIVETING!!!! This one owner, no expense spared build was based on the idea to build a true street sleeper from a stock looking Heron White VF SSV Ute and replacing the 6.0 Litre small block V8 engine with a LS7 Monster. The result is simply MIND BLOWING!!! Power comes from a flywheel 1,100hp+ (910hp power/1200Nm torque at wheels) 447 cubic inch (7.3 litre) LS7 supercharged motor, built by Spencer Race Engines in Melbourne. The bottom end equipment is a ‘Dart’ billet 2,000hp rated LS7 Aluminium Block (4.165” bore x 4.1” stroke) with ‘Callies’ Crank, ‘Ultra’ Rods, ‘Diamond’ Pistons all oiled by an upgraded LS7 dry sump oil system. Top end equipment includes ‘Brodix’ Heads with 2.25” inlet valves & 1.62” exhaust valves, double valve springs, solid lifters and custom Cam, breathing through 2” custom exhaust headers. An intercooled/interchilled ‘Whipple’ 2.9 litre supercharger with 102mm throttle body & modest 12psi boost inducts the engine. Fuel is fed through a custom fuel system, including 3 surge tanks. Support systems include 250amp alternator, electric water pump, upgraded radiator, with all hoses & fittings sourced from ‘Aeroflow’. Running gear includes Dual Plate ‘NPC’ Clutch managing an upgraded ‘Tremec’ Magnum 6 speed oil cooled gearbox. A ‘Mal Wood’ driveshaft turns the 2000hp rated 9” G-Force diff with Eaton lockers and G-Force Axles & Stubbs. Rolling on Avanti 20” rims, 9” wide on front and 10” wide on rear with Nitto rubber. Braking power is completed by Harrop brakes with 6 pot calipers to front & 4 pot calipers to rear. The SSV Ute comes complete with Queensland Mod plate, full new car log books documentation including the original sales invoice and only 6,506 Klms on the clock since new. In immaculate showroom condition, this SSV Ute has been built to be easy to drive and with longevity in mind. Open the bonnet, open the doors and it looks all ‘factory’ and even smells new. The mature owner has never raced the car and it has never seen dirt or wet roads. The A/C, Cruise Control and all electrics work perfectly and the SS is currently running on E85 but can be changed to 98 if required. Suspension has been upgraded with Pedders Springs and all works are Mod Plated.
