1969 Holden Monaro HK Bathurst 327 Series 2 - Ermine White

For sale a stunning rare genuine 1969 HK GTS Monaro 327 Bathurst for inspection at our Sydney Showroom.

The sleek, pillarless two-door Monaro was introduced six months after the rest of the HK range but soon took pride of place in Holden dealerships across the country. Its 'boy racer' appeal was universal, the Monaro's shape unashamedly based on the glorious US muscle cars of the time. The pillarless two-door coupe design was a new concept for Australians, and with a choice of three models - Monaro, Monaro GTS and GTS 327, Holden were catering for anyone who aspired to own a sporty coupe.

Even if you were a staunch Ford supporter it was near impossible not to fall in love with the design. It's long, wide body, flared wheel arches and sweeping roofline, black rally stripes, unique wheel trims, paint finishes and a tail panel strip that replicated a full-width tail light were irresistible.

And to top it off, the HK Monaro GTS 327 in the hands of Bruce McPhee and Barry Mulholland driving the Wyong Motors entereted HK 327 left no question marks that this was a car with the brawn as well as the beauty by winning the Hardie-Ferodo 500 at Bathurst in 1968 against the XT GT Falcon. In fact the HK 327 Monaro filled 1st, 2nd, 3rd and fifth places in the Great Race of 1968 cementing the Monaro as one of Holden's All Stars!

For sale is this stunning largely original 1969 HK Monaro GTS (81837) body # 00452 which was originally built at the Pagewood, Sydney plant and finished in Ermine White with Jacana Blue trim. An older restoration, the GTS still presents in excellent condition throughout and features the correct small block 327 engine, the original Rochester Quadrajet carby, original exhaust manifolds, spark plug heat shields, big nut master braking system and factory quad exhaust outlets. The gearbox is the factory Saginaw 4 speed manual and 10 Bolt Salisbury LSD.

The GTS 327 also features stunning Jacana Blue vinyl seats, original crash pad, steering wheel, all working gauges and factory working AM radio. The HK GTS was factory optioned with rare Power Steering which is still fitted to the Monaro and makes driving a real pleasure. The car is showing 77,826 miles and comes with a HK Workshop manual.

The Monaro features the signature GTS wheel covers, excellent wheel arch molds and genuine Firestone red walled tyres.

This is a jump in and enjoy car with nothing to spend. The car presents beautifully with lovely paint and super clean factory Jacana Blue vinyl interior. Mechanically the car is dead stock, starts and runs perfectly and has been well serviced, used sparingly and greatly admired where-ever she goes.
