Show condition 38000 mile 428 SCJ with Deluxe Interior, Power Steering, Power Disk Brakes, Tinted Windows and Drag Pack

Price: $95,000 ono

After purchasing from the original owners, this rare SCJ 428 Mach 1 was restored to the highest standard possible, and is regarded as one of the Top 5 Concours standard Mach 1?s in the USA. Since it?s completion it has done well in several shows including the 2000 World of Wheels-1st Place, 2001-1st Place, Super Ford and Mustang Monthly Auto Show Spectacular in St. Louis, Missouri-1st Place, 2000 MCA ? Kansas City Regional ? Silver (Concours Trailered) and finally a Bronze at the 2001 Mustang Club of America Grand National Show in Kansas City (Concours Trailered). After that show, it was never shown competitively again.

The original window sticker goes with the car and it was originally purchased from Griffin Ford in Millard, Nebraska.

This car was originally going to be restored with the idea that it would be a car to be driven to shows and be fun to drag race on weekends and be an eye catcher on the street. However, it was also acknowledged that the car would be extremely valuable someday given the rarity of the 428 Super Cobra Jet option with ram air, the low miles and the color combination of the Acapulco blue exterior contrasted with the white interior. It was a complete ground up rotisserie restoration with nothing being left to chance. All painted surfaces on the body were taken down to metal and worked to absolute perfect smoothness. The unibody frame was stripped with plastic media and Vera primed before painting. All body parts were chemically dipped and are original except for the front fenders (o.e. replacements), which were replaced due to ripples from hard launches. It has original fiberglass rear taillight bezels. All the chrome was replated to concours show quality. All suspension pieces were tested for strength and either replaced and/or zinc plated then painted for enduring quality. The undercarriage is as nice as the rest and completely detailed down to factory markings and undercoating (see pictures). All interior pieces were restored or replaced including seats/seatbelts and carpet. Extreme detail went into every step including such things as undercoating the insides of the doors after painting.

The top-loader transmission has been completely disassembled and blueprinted. The motor has been internally balanced, blueprinted and stroked for better performance, strength and longevity by Chuck Willard of Willard Auto Machine in Omaha. It currently has covered just 179 miles since completed. The only thing not factory stock on the car are the Hooker Competition Plus Headers and dual mufflers (stainless tips are original). That?s right, it won all those awards without factory manifolds. It is a true masterpiece in every sense of the word. No expense was spared to make this car a truly awesome piece of machinery. No hidden flaws on this car anywhere. Apparently, Gold Card MCA Judges have said that the car could easily be a top National Show contender with very little effort. It was built for the best of both worlds - drag race it on Saturday, show it on Sunday!
