Specifications/History:

VH Commodore SS

5.0 litre V8 - XV2 (HDT prepared)

Build Date : May 1983

This model is based on the "Chariots Of Fire" production run

for VH Commodores of predominately red cars with 4.2 litre engines.

This is a rare factory 5.0 litre V8 white vehicle that was prepared at Brock's HDT factory as a special order with ADP ( Australian Dealer Pack ) and BT1 (Police Pursuit Pack) options as well as a special use suspension package.

It was then returned to General Motors Holdings in Brisbane, as first

owners, and used as a Promotional and Precision Driving Team Vehicle.

It was first registered as a Queensland vehicle with plates "GMH-05".

The VH Commodore was released in Sept 1981 and ran through to the introduction of the VK model in March 1984. The VH model was used

by the Holden Precision Driving Team in 1982-83 with a team of 4 cars. This vehicle is a 5th car, and a late addition to the team in June 1983 as a damaged vehicle replacement. Hence it completed little work before the release of the VK. It was used as an aerials car, hence the heavily modified suspension package. The car has retained all of its modifications over the years, including the Brock inlet manifold, big valve heads, original roll cage and suspension etc.

The Holden Precision Driving Team has long entertained crowds at shows

all over the Country. Starting with Monaro's the team later switched to

Commodores.

With a very low 10,184 kms on the clock, it was returned to its original white colour and sold in Sydney through Les Vagg Motors at Pennant Hills in March 1984.

Today, 25yrs later, all the original sponsorship livery and colours have been re-applied and it still retains a very low original 43,000 kms. It is in almost mint original condition, particularly the interior as things like the back seat have never held a passenger.
