Now for sale from our Sydney Showroom, this stunning 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe, finished in its iconic Candy Apple Red and powered by its matching-numbers 289ci A-Code V8 backed by a C4 automatic transmission.

Built on 20 June 1966 out of the San Jose, California plant and delivered through a Los Angeles Ford dealership, this Mustang is a genuine California car that remained in California its entire life before being imported to Australia in February 2012. Its original factory colour was Wimbledon White, complemented by the original Red Crinkle Vinyl interior. The car has since been professionally presented in its current Candy Apple Red finish with contrasting White GT stripes.

Under the bonnet is the correct 289ci 2V V8, retaining its original engine and running a 2-barrel carburettor, standard exhaust manifolds and a single exhaust system with a Lukey performance muffler, giving the Mustang a fantastic classic V8 note.

The interior features the desirable Luxury Bucket Interior, finished in black vinyl with black cloth insert trim, along with reproduction dash, door cards and steering wheel. Factory power steering and the T-bar C4 automatic transmission make this Mustang a pleasure to drive. A reproduction AM/FM radio is also fitted.
All chrome, glass and brightwork are in excellent condition, complementing the overall presentation of this iconic first-generation Mustang.

The Mustang rides on 14-inch Scott Drake steel wheels with 225/65R14 tyres all round, giving it a traditional and purposeful stance.

The current owner has enjoyed the Mustang since 2012, with the car accompanied by its Import Approval, service documentation and receipts for works undertaken.

Now on NSW Club Registration, this is a beautifully presented early-build Mustang with nothing to spend – simply get behind the wheel and enjoy.

Early-build first-generation Mustangs remain highly desirable, and a genuine California car with the correct A-Code 289ci V8, factory hardtop body, Luxury Bucket Interior and iconic colour combination makes this a particularly attractive collector and enthusiast example.

Terms of sale

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.

When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.

The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.

If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.

If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.

AMCS receives a fee of 8.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
