Big is beautiful. And in 1971 Ford had the Australian luxury car market well and truly covered with the ZD Fairlane 500. Combining full-sized comfort, effortless cruising ability and unmistakable road presence, the Fairlane was the car of choice for buyers wanting luxury with V8 performance. This example was ordered with the sought-after K-Code 351 Cleveland V8 and remains a superb example of Ford's flagship luxury sedan.

Repainted 15 years ago, the Fairlane is one of the best we have seen. A very nice paint job with all original chrome and stainless. Engine bay, door jambs and boot still feature the factory original paint. The engine was rebuilt at the same time with only 500 miles covered since. The body is dead straight with nil rust or accident damage.

Shut the doors and you know this is a good car. And the interior is absolutely stunning with barely any wear and tear to this 55 year old car. The Fairlane is unmodified throughout and features the original seat coverings, door cards, hood lining, crash pad, dash, gauges, Superfringe radio and steering wheel.

Under the bonnet sits the original 351 Cleveland 2V V8 backed by the factory FMX 3 speed column automatic transmission. The engine bay proudly displays its originality, while the car starts easily, runs smoothly and delivers the effortless cruising ability these big Fairlanes are renowned for. With factory power steering, it is a pleasure to drive today.

The ZD is riding on brand new Aquatread red wall tyres with MINT hubcaps. And in the boot is the original boot mat in unbelievable condition, a spare wheel and tools. Even the boot light works.

If you are looking for one of the best preserved ZD Fairlane K-Code 351 then this is the one you have been waiting for.

AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.

When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.

If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.

AMCS receives a fee of 8.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
