1971 XY Fairmont 351 V8
The time has come to sell this unrestored 10th month, 1971 factory 302 V8 XY Fairmont. Located in Newcastle, NSW for your inspection.
Purchased in August, 1993 the owner of this original Bronze Wine and Saddle trim XY Fairmont has replaced the original 302 V8 Windsor with a mild 351 Cleveland, retaining the C4 auto and adding a T-bar shifter and 9" diff.
Originally used as a daily driver, the plan was to build a K code GS Fairmont tribute but as often happens, life got in the way. The XY presents in original unrestored condition with some bumps and scrapes but is generally rust and damage free. A genuine GS steering wheel has been fitted plus auxiliary gauges and an 8,000 tacho. There is also a spare unmolested dash included. XW GT black front seats have been installed and the original door cards have been sprayed black to match and the rear seat is the factory installed Fairmont saddle item with a dark cloth seat cover.
Mechanically, the XY runs a rebuilt 600 Holley Vac Secondaries and an Edelbrock 2V dual plane manifold. The 351 Cleveland has a stage 2 cam delivering a fairly mild 300+ Hp at the engine. The motor runs strong with a silky smooth idle. The C4 t-bar auto has been thoroughly maintained and all service work has been recorded since 1993. The car come with some receipts for work completed.
Comes with the original owners log books plus a service history summary from 1993 to the present day. The car has never been out of registration and still wears the original NSW plates DXQ-364. Full NSW registration until March, 2023.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
