1971 XY GS Fairmont 351 K code 4 speed manual
Super rare 1971 XY GS Fairmont running the all matching numbers K code 351 2V Cleveland, 4 speed top loader, 9" diff and factory dual exhaust combo. Originally ordered by Harrigan Ford, Wollongong, NSW as a demonstrator and then used by Doug Harrigan as his drive car, then sold to its next owner in Wollongong, NSW before being purchased by a long term owner and stored in a nice dry shed in Broken Hill, NSW for many years.
The car was last registered in 1988 (see rego label on the windscreen) and after many years of storage resurfaced in 2015, receiving an exterior only paint job in the factory Nugget Gold. During the light restoration, the owner was careful to leave as much original paint as possible in the door jambs and the fire wall area of the engine bay. The compliance plate has never been removed from the car.
The interior is basically original except for a retrim to the driver's seat, a new crash pad and carpet. Hood lining and sun visors are all still original as are the door cards, arm rests and glass except for the windscreen. The car has covered around 76,000 miles and comes with the owners log books, owners manuals, new car brochure and some receipts.
Mechanically the engine was rebuilt in 2017 and while it looks stock standard actually features aluminium heads, extractors and a dynoed 320HP of power. A new 11" clutch was fitted, a new alternator fitted and the cooling system brakes and suspension were all reconditioned. Riding on near perfect chrome GS hubcaps and near new red walled tyres.
The car features sought after options including the factory dual exhausts, GS Rally Pack and has had a dealer fitted Superfringe radio, remote exterior sports rear view mirror and driving lights fitted. This is as close to a GT as you could get in the day, delivering a similar level of performance and driving excitement but saving thousands of dollars in insurance costs. Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
