1972 XA GS Fairmont 302 V8
Launched in March, 1972, the XA was Ford Australia’s first model to be completely designed and built in this country. For sale is this restored genuine 1972 XA GS V8 Fairmont in stunning and rare Kelly green metallic with the original Parchment trim. Originally sold through Allan Coffey Motors, Ringwood, VIC, this GS Fairmont features the all matching numbers 302 Cleveland V8 and T-Bar C4 automatic transmission. A one of one build spec car with Ford letter of verification and showing a genuine 151,000 miles from new.
The GS Rallye Pack was one of the most popular options carried over from the XW/XY range. The GS Pack included special side stripes, 12-slot styled steel wheels with brushed centre caps, sports steering wheel and full instrumentation, including a tacho, electric clock, oil pressure, fuel and temperature gauges. A GT style grille complete with driving lights was also available but rarely seen on XA Grand Sports . Available across all three trim levels, the GS option could be had with any engine and transmission combination, allowing the Ford buyer to create a car with all the visual appeal of a GT without the expense. As GT values have exploded over the past decade, interest in the GS package has grown accordingly, particularly cars equipped with a factory Ford V8.
This XA GS has been fitted at some stage with A/C (not connected) and dealer fitted power steering. It is damage free and completely rust free. The 2017 restoration included a full respray inside and out, with new chrome while maintaining the original Parchment interior. The motor and transmission were treated to a freshen up to stock specifications. All rubbers have been replaced as has the Kelsey Hayes 12 slots and the front end has also been rebuilt.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
