1975 Ford Landau Coupe
Rare Landau coupe now for sale. Located in Bribie Island, Sunshine Coast, QLD. Offers over $49,000 invited.
Here is a great Ford Hardtop resto project. A super rare one of only two Ford Landau Coupes ever built and painted in Vermilion Fire with White Vinyl Roof and Parchment leather interior.
Sold new through Bryan Byrt Ford, Mt Gravatt, QLD, the Landau was initially used as a demo vehicle by the Mt Gravatt dealership and subsequently was repainted a number of times from Vermilion Fire to Yellow Glo in the 1980s and finally to Black in the 1990s. However, Vermilion paint is everywhere - inside the doors, engine bay and with overspray under the car and generally underneath all the black paint.
Featuring the all matching numbers 351 Cleveland V8, FMX auto, 9" LSD diff with 2.75:1 ratio and factory installed tramp rods, the car runs and drives with a strong stockie engine, silent diff but the FMX gearbox will need a service as it misses second gear. The engine bay is pretty original and has also been painted in black. The matching numbers engine has been repainted in Ford Blue and features the original style air cleaner and a Holley carby.
Factory optioned with power windows, power steering, 4 wheel disc brakes, Air-conditioning (complete but needs reconnecting and a regas), rear de-mister and those luscious leather seats for 4 passengers. Note that the seats are all original and have been resprayed in Black at some stage. The crash pad is still in good condition and all gauges work except for the clock. Steering wheel is a non original timber sports wheel. Carpets and hood lining are in good condition.
Radio is original and works but there is no aerial fitted.
Showing 80,047 Klms but has gone around once. Three owners from new with the original owner until the mid 1980s, the second owner of 15 years and then the current owner since 2006. The Landau comes with a Ford letter of verification and some receipts.
Suspension and brakes are original, operational but obviously could do with a service. Riding on 15" Speedy alloy rims with older tyres, the original Landau hubcaps are missing in action.
Although the current owner had all good intentions to get the car back onto the road, he never quite got around to progressing the project. So now the time has come to let her go to a new owner. This is a super rare car that deserves to be restored to its former glory or just get her back on the road and enjoy as is.
Offers over $49,000 invited. Located in Bribie Island, Brisbane, QLD. (Ref: 5978)
And we will gladly arrange a video inspection/road test of the car using WhatsApp, and of course there is no issue with enclosed door to door transport anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
