When was the last time you saw an XC Falcon Hardtop advertised for sale? And especially one as well optioned from the factory as this one!
According to motoring journo Peter Wherrett from the well received Torque program that aired on the ABC in the 70s, the XC was the best sorted Falcon he had ever driven. He loved the interior design, the supportive seats and the dash layout. He said the brakes were spectacularly good and the performance although not quite in the category of a GT was certainly not far off.
For sale is a true survivor example of the XC Falcon GS. A factory Pine 'N Lime hardtop with Chamois trim, this unrestored GS is presented in what we regard as maintained condition. The XC has been repainted over the original Pine 'N Lime in what looks like Yellow Glo. Although an older paint job, the car presents well with some to be expected paint blemishes, some paint cracking and patina in line with the age of the paint. The car was rust proofed in the 1990s as per the engine bay decal. A new vinyl roof was fitted to the car at the time of the repaint. The radiator support production line tag is still attached to the chassis rail and confirms the GS Rally Pack and Vinyl Roof factory options. The original Chamois interior has been retrimmed with the addition of Houndstooth cloth inserts. The seat trims, carpets, hood lining and door cards are all in good original condition as is the dash, gauges and steering wheel. The radio has been removed at some stage and is supplied with the car.
Mechanically, the XC GS runs the numbers matching 302 Cleveland V8, 3 speed T-Bar C4 auto and 9" LSD rear end. The GS is an excellent reliable driver having just been driven without any issues to our Sydney Showroom by the owner from country Victoria. The engine features a 4bbl Holley carby and the factory exhaust manifold. Mechanically the car has been serviced thoroughly with new parts fitted as required to keep this car in perfect running order. The GS is fitted with working optional Air Conditioning and factory Power Steering.
According to the Ford Verification letter, the XC GS was factory optioned with Power Steering, Golde Sunroof, Tinted Laminated Windscreen, Black Vinyl Roof, LSD and a dual exhaust system. The XC GS is also dealer fitted with working underdash A/C. Built in the same month as the now legendary Falcon Cobra, this Falcon looks to have been originally a Ford Executive vehicle and according to the Ford Verification Letter is one of only three XC Falcons built to the same specifications.
The car has covered a genuine 364,467 klms from new and comes with a letter of verification from The Ford Motor Co, original keys and some receipts.
The car runs the original 14" 12 slots with caps and dress rims and Nankang 225x60x14 tyres all round, a spare and factory tools.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
