1961 MK2 Jaguar
The Jaguar Mark 2 built by Jaguar in Coventry, England was and still is a highly regarded sports saloon. Whether as a proper TV star in the hands of Inspector Morse or on race and rally circuits around the world, the Jaguar Mk. 11 certainly developed a reputation in line with Jaguars advertising slogan - Grace . . . Space . . . Pace. The Mk2 was and still is a fast and capable saloon.
In fact, here in Australia, Bob Jane won the 1962 and 1963 Australian Touring Car Championship driving a 3.8 litre Mk2 and an automatic Mk2 tested by Motor magazine in 1961 had a top speed of 119.9 mph (193.0 km/h) and could accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 11.9 seconds.
For sale is a 1961 Jaguar Mk2 with 3.4 Ltr 210 bhp engine and factory manual Moss 4 speed gearbox with overdrive. The car was originally sold in the UK and was imported into New Zealand in the 1970s and then imported to Australia in 1982.
It had been laid up for a period of 25 years and was recommissioned by the current owner who purchased the car 3 years ago and undertook a full respray in Regency red as a tribute to the famous Inspector Morse Jag.
The Jaguar also received new carpet, clutch, fuel pump and battery. The leather interior & polished timber is all original and although there is some wear to the drivers seat the rest of the interior is in exceptional condition for its age.
The Jaguar still has the original electrical system including the ignition harness. The car has covered a genuine 42,800 miles which is confirmed by the documentation that accompanies the vehicle.
The Mk2 is riding on steel wheels with standard hubcaps and dress rims with excellent tyres. In the boot is an excellent spare and original tool kit. The car also includes a period correct picnic basket with everything you need for a proper English luncheon. Even a bottle of wine is supplied.
The brakes, suspension, exhaust are all in excellent condition and the car still features all the original Jaguar badging.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
