1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 Tribute
No expense spared 1965 Shelby GT350 Tribute for sale. Fully seam welded body with all new panels, floor and roof. Painted in original Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes to Shelby original specifications. Front and rear guards flared in metal, bonnet scoop is fiberglass and fully functional. Body frames and doors have been rustproofed with a German rustproofing liquid.
Mechanically the Shelby is powered by a 347ci Dart Ford Windsor 4 inch bore block with 4 bolt mains and Dart aluminium heads, ported and polished with capacity matched combustion chambers. The very best internals including a Scat steel crankshaft and conrods, and Stage 3 Comp Cam (roller design) with roller rockers. The engine has a wonderful flat torque curve from 2800rpm all the way to 6400rpm. Edelbrock Air Gap manifold with Holley 650cfm racing carburetor (double pumper with no chokes). MSD Electronic Ignition. PWR custom made radiator with high capacity dual electric fans. (no overheating issues). Custom made extractors with 8 separate pipes mounting to cylinder head plates, 4 into 1 each side. The engine is tuned to 325bhp at the rear wheels for road use.
Tremec T5 transmission fitted, useing a 500hp single plate clutch with full hydraulic conversion. (No clutch fork). Custom chrome-moly tailshaft connects to the Ford 9" True Track LSD with Ford 3.5:1 gears.
Brakes are front AP Racing 4 piston calipers with Forza 2 piece rotors 296mm x 28mm. running rear discs with drum parking brake. Adjustable bias between front and rear with an electric vacuum pump.
Renowned RRS Suspension conversion upgraded by Heasmans Suspension to incorporate strengthened mounting points, including fully adjustable height and shock absorbers. Eibach coils and Bilstein Shocks. Adjustable rear trailing arms and watts linkage arms. The car has been corner weighted to tune its handling. Steering is rack and pinion with power assistance. Geometry has been engineered to zero bumpsteer with adjustable castor and camber.
Scat sports front seats fitted trimmed in navy leather. Rear seat is original design trimmed in matching leather. Dash includes Altimeter instruments using the 6 cluster GT350R instrument panel. Steering wheel is an original Shelby spec Motolita 15 inch wooden 3 spoke alloy. Steering column is 32" collapsible and tilt adjustable from a 67 Mustang. Gear lever is a genuine Hurst shifter with a short shift mechanism. Working Hurricane under dash air conditioning fitted.
Running All American Torque Thrust D 15" Racing wheels. Currently running 7" on the front and 8.5" on the rear. There are 2 spare 7" wheels and 2 spare 8" wheels. 2 sets of tyres, Mickey Thomson 235/60 Street Strip radials and Yokohama 225/60 C Drive radials.
This is one hell of a Shelby that has been built without regard to cost delivering a car that drives, handles and stops better than most modern cars. Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
