2001 Ford Mustang Cobra - Australian Delivered ... (SOLD)

Now for sale this ultra low mileage example of the 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra, one of 100 imported by Ford Australia. Located in Bendigo, Vic.

After a 30 year absence from the Australian market, 100 Mustang Cobras were imported by Ford Australia and converted to meet Australian compliance under Ford/Tickford's FTE brand. FTE was also building the AU Ford Falcon T-Series at the same time. To meet the Australian Design Rules, Tickford made many changes to the cars including moving the engine and gearbox 25mm to the left and modifying or substituting many parts used in the manufacture of the cars. Once converted, these Mustangs were then sold through the Ford Dealer Network with full Ford warranty.

The result according to the March issue of Motor Magazine, " ... is a much better car than the Americans get and a much better car than we thought we were going to get."

For sale is an ultra low mileage example of the 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra, one of the only 100 Mustangs imported by Ford Australia and converted by Tickford FTE Australia. Featuring the all matching numbers 4.6 Litre Quad Cam V8 producing 240 kw@6000 rpm, a 5 speed Tremec gearbox, 4 wheel disc brakes, Tickford modified dual exhaust and fully electric convertible roof.

This particular car was first registered to the Ford Motor Company in August, 2001 as an executive vehicle. The second owner held the car until May, 2008 at which time it had travelled 42,000 klms. Since May, 2008 the car has travelled a mere 3,500 klms with a total mileage covered since new of 45,756 klms. The Cobra comes with log books noting Ford as the first registered owner, Ford service history, two sets keys and factory floor matts.

The car is riding on near new Ventura Sports 245/45/17 tyres on unmarked factory alloy rims. In the boot is a brand new Spacesaver spare, tools and cargo net.

This Mustang really is in first class condition and is a great entry point for a unique Australian complianced and delivered RHD Mustang.
