To celebrate 50 years since the first Super Snake growled out of the Shelby American factory, Shelby introduced the 2017 Super Snake. A fitting tribute to the genius of Carroll Shelby, it combines blistering performance, precise handling and aggressive styling in one formidable package.

Offered for sale from our Sydney showroom is this stunning one-owner Ruby Red Super Snake, one of just 27 examples built in Australia by Mustang Motorsport, the only authorised Shelby partner outside the USA. Powered by a Whipple-supercharged version of Ford's legendary 5.0-litre Coyote V8, it produces an incredible 750 horsepower, sprinting from 0-100km/h in just 3.5 seconds and covering the quarter mile in 10.9 seconds on street-rated Michelin tyres.

Like all genuine Shelby vehicles, this Super Snake carries an official CSM number and is listed on the Shelby American Registry. Beginning with a 2017 Mustang GT, Mustang Motorsport transformed the 5.0-litre Coyote V8 with a massive 2.9-litre liquid-intercooled Whipple supercharger. Airflow, cooling and fuel delivery were extensively upgraded with high-performance fuel injectors, a high-flow intake system and an oversized billet throttle body.

To manage the increased power and heat, Shelby fitted a heavy-duty oversized aluminium radiator, high-flow intercooler, performance aluminium heat exchangers and high-capacity expansion tanks, all beautifully presented with polished billet components.

Power is delivered through a six-speed manual transmission equipped with a short-throw shifter, heavy-duty half-shafts, a Wavetrac Torsen differential and differential oil cooler to comfortably handle the immense torque. A Shelby-tuned Borla exhaust system provides maximum flow and an unmistakable muscle-car soundtrack that perfectly complements the Super Snake's aggressive character.

Stopping power comes from bright red Wilwood performance brakes featuring six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, while Shockworks fully adjustable coil-over suspension has recently been upgraded to the company's latest spring and damper specifications. Ride height and damper settings can be adjusted while fitted to the vehicle, and upgraded Steeda rear toe arms further enhance handling and stability.

The Super Snake rides on magnificent highly polished 20-inch forged aluminium wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres measuring 275/35ZR20 at the front and a massive 305/30ZR20 at the rear.

Exterior enhancements are designed to improve aerodynamics, cooling and visual impact, and include a custom carbon fibre twin-scoop ram-air bonnet, redesigned front fascia with unique mesh grilles, front splitter, side rockers with carbon fibre splitters, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and carbon fibre rear tail panel.

Inside, the cabin combines luxury, exclusivity and performance-focused detailing. Premium Katzkin leather sports seats feature embroidered Shelby snake logos on the headrests, while the dashboard incorporates a Shelby-branded carbon fibre gauge cluster housing Shelby-branded AutoMeter gauges monitoring boost, fuel pressure and oil pressure. A dash plaque displays the car's official Shelby build serial number, complemented by Super Snake premium floor mats and illuminated Super Snake door sill plates.

A one-owner enthusiast vehicle, this Super Snake has travelled just 33,960 kilometres from new, averaging fewer than 4,000 kilometres per year. It is accompanied by Shelby authenticity documentation, log books, an extensive service history with servicing completed every six months, two sets of keys, a Shelby-numbered car cover, a receipt folder, a brand-new spare set of Katzkin Super Snake seat covers in Raven Black, plus oils and filters for its next scheduled service.

When Carroll Shelby introduced the original Super Snake in 1967, it earned worldwide acclaim for its astonishing performance capabilities. Nearly 50 years later, that same spirit lives on in this exceptional 750-horsepower Super Snake.
