Now for sale this fully restored '75 HJ Sandman Panel Van, available for inspection in our Sydney Showroom.

Before the HOLDEN SANDMAN Panel Van, a Panel Van was just a that. A Van. It was a load-hauler that you threw ladders and half empty paint tins into, along with the tools and the wheelbarrow.

With the Sandman, Holden created a whole new genre, something we are quite used to now. But in the early 1970s this was something pretty special. All of a sudden, you could buy a Panel Van painted in wild colours and dressed up with mag wheels, stripes and a GTS dash. This was a Van that was built to enjoy the fun stuff in life like carrying you and a mate off for a dirt bike weekend, a surfing carnival, a fishing expedition or dare we say a dirty weekend.

The Van as a pure work horse was no more. This was specialty transport targeting the younger market that saw a whole new use for the once humble Panel Van.

For sale is a stunning example of the 1975 HJ Holden Sandman Panel Van in Absinth Yellow with black trim. Running the sought after period correct stock 308 5 litre V8 Completely rebuilt with under 300km since rebuild and M21 4 speed manual gearbox, this Sandman was rotisserie restored over a five year period and completed in August 2024.

Originally sold through Esmonds Motors, Queanbeyan, NSW, this Sandman was ordered based on the Kingswood specification rather than the more common Belmont variety. Power steering has been added to the car at the time of the restoration.

The Sandman comes with a Holden Historical Services letter of Authenticity plus two sets of keys. Indicating 324,588 km from new with less than 300 kilometres since the restoration was completed.

Available for inspection in our Sydney Showroom. (Ref. 6577)

And we will gladly arrange a video inspection/road test of the car using WhatsApp, and of course there is no issue with enclosed door to door transport anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
