Finally the HX Monaro GTS you have been waiting for! In stunning Mandarin Red with those signature Black and Red Monaro seats this is a really beautiful head turning honest survivor, located in Ballarat, Vic.

Arriving on the scene in July 1976, the HX model incorporated design changes to meet the new government anti-pollution requirements. The Monaro coupe was now gone from the HX line-up, but the Monaro and GTS badging was boldly emblazoned on this extroverted GTS four door.

The bright colours, large GTS decals, colour-keyed mirror and bumpers, integrated body-coloured spoilers and optional bonnet black-out made it the most distinctive of all the four door Monaros.

For sale is a stunning example of the HX GTS Monaro. Running the original 308 V8 L31 engine optioned with the bullet proof M41 T-400 automatic gearbox and Salisbury rear end, this all matching numbers HX Monaro GTS is presented in stunning condition throughout. Purchased by the current custodian in 2015 from the long term second owner, the HX was refreshed with the roof, bonnet and front and rear bumpers repainted due to normal deterioration from age. The body was super clean with no rust, dents or damage whatsoever.

Within a year of his purchase, the current enthusiast owner had the motor fully reconditioned (see receipts). Although the car had been well maintained it needed a freshen up and a new lease on life. All mechanical work was done properly with no shortcuts and the Monaro has only done about 4,500 kilometres since the rebuild. Most of those have been from two return trips to Adelaide to participate in the annual Bay to Birdwood run. The HX has now covered a genuine 231,587 Klms from new.

This HX Monaro GTS has never been modified or abused just maintained in good order all it's life. This is a very correct example, easy to drive, tight as a drum and absolutely reliable. With working integrated air conditioning, the smooth changing M41 T-400 automatic and power steering it's a great cruiser. The air conditioning has just been re-gassed and the car has also been fully serviced.

The interior is very original with immaculate seat trims, hood lining, sunvisors, dash pad, steering wheel etc. The driver's seat base has been retrimmed and the carpet replaced but everything else is day one original. The radio, clock, heater demister, dwell wipers and heater are all in perfect working condition.

Open the boot and the boot mat, spare tyre and factory tools are all still in place. The HX GTS also comes with the original NSW number plates KIQ-883.

For the Monaro buyer wanting a good honest genuine GTS that can be driven and enjoyed with full confidence of it's reliability, this example will suit perfectly. It's a no excuses car, fitted with the original engine, with compliance plates that have never been removed and with no modifications. The Monaro has never been in an accident, the undersides are spot on and you can see from the photos that the underside of the doors, inside of the door jambs and under the boot mat are in excellent rust and damage free condition.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to secure a first class example of a rare and sought after Holden Monaro collectable.
