This HX is mint. Mint Julep actually. Now for sale is this immaculate fully restored 1977 HX Monaro GTS 4 door in Mint Julep, running a period correct QT 308 V8 and M21 4 speed gearbox.
The current 4th owner of this stand out HX Monaro GTS has owned the car for the last 8 years and has spent nearly 2 years bringing her back to factory specifications. This included a rebuild of the 308 V8 by an ex Holden engineer in which he pulled the engine down, replaced all the gaskets, reconditioned the heads, fitted new valves springs and added a mild cam. And all this less than 2,000 klms ago. A new stainless exhaust with Pacemaker extractors has been fitted and the M21 gearbox has been reconditioned. All works come with a receipt file for works completed.
New suspension has been fitted all round including fitment of heavy duty sway bars. Steering has all been reconditioned and a new power steering pump fitted. Brakes have been reconditioned from the booster to the master cylinder including new front discs.
The car has been bare metal restored in acrylic with all door gaps properly sorted. The interior has been retrimmed in Chamois to original specifications with new seats, roof lining, door trims and crash pad and dash fascia. Even the AM radio and clock still work.
The car is a good original example of the last of the Monaro GTS so if you are looking for an as new example in a killer colour combo, then this is the one for you. A Certificate of authenticity will be supplied from Holden Historical Services.
