It is easy to see why some guys are obsessed with GMH's Harry Firth still born engineering plans to shoe horn a V8 engine into a LC/LJ Torana thus creating the so called Torana XU3. One could only imagine what Peter Brock could have done with the combined power and handling of such a Torana around Bathurst's Mount Panorama circuit.

Engineered with a 400ci small block Chevrolet V8 with forged internals, Pro Topline Iron Lightning heads, SCAT crank, twin 750 Holley Pro-series carbies on a tunnel ram intake, through to custom headers with dual 3 inch system with x-pipe. Estimated to run around 600hp.
All this grunt runs through a B&M shifted 2 speed Powerglide by Victory Performance Transmissions of Kenthurst, through a 3" tailshaft and then a 9" four link diff setup with mini tubs by Profab Motorsport of Wollongong. There's a transmission oil cooler up front, a fuel cell in the boot with H/P fuel pump and a battery box.
Suspension is coil overs with 4 link rear. Braking is HQ discs up front and HQ drums rear with all new hoses, calipers and pads. Ford F250 rear wheel bearings have been used to accommodate the rear wheels.
On the inside, the Sports bucket seats are covered in a orange and black matching Herringbone pattern with a full roll cage fitted with 5mm high density rubber. The car is running an Autometer Monster tacho with shift light, after market water and oil pressure gauges with standard GTR dash and steering wheel. There is also a keyless push button start with control panel for fans and future upgrades as required. The Tory is showing 41,019 miles.
The Torana is riding on Weld Racing Weld Pro Stars in 17 x 4" with 195/70 Pirelli P8FS, and 15 x 10" on the rear with 255/60/15 TOYO Z Radial tyres.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
