APV 1987 VL Holden Calais 4.9L V8

SOLD  $POA

APV or Advanced Performance Vehicles was started soon after Brock and GMH parted ways. About 40 mostly ex Bertie Street HDT employees under the leadership of ex HDT Director Jeff Hughes formed a short lived company to look after HDT owners and their cars and also to develop a standalone Commodore offering. Of course HSV blitzed the scene and the rest is history.

APV Build No. 1 is the car you see here. It was the APV test mule. When it appeared in Car Australia Magazine in 1988 it had covered 28,000 klms of hard testing. Originally based on an Alpine white VL Calais, it featured an APV body kit, engine tweaks, Momo 16 x 7 rims, a Momo steering wheel and of course the APV build plate in the engine bay.

Along the way, the car was repainted in Burgundy and the original engine has now been rebuilt as an injected 355 stroker with 5 speed T-5 manual transmission. The exhaust, suspension, brakes and diff have all been upgraded. The engine bay electrics have been fully rewired. The body and paint are in good condition with no rust or damage. The original Scheel interior is in excellent condition. The car will be sold with polished HSV VL Group A SS Walkinshaw wheels, a huge receipt file for most of the work done going back 20 years plus heaps of registration paperwork and some spare body and interior part.

Current owner of 10 years. Full WA registration. Perth, WA car. (Ref. 5175)

Terms of sale

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.

When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.

The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.

If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.

If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.

AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
